HIBBETT SPORTING GOODS, INC. OPENS SECOND AIKEN LOCATION BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (October 28, 2011) – National sporting goods retailer HibbettSporting Goods, Inc. operating as Hibbett Sports has opened its newest store in Aiken,South Carolina. The new store opened at 1660 Richland Avenue West in Kalmia Plazaon Friday, October 28 and will employ approximately eight full and part-time teammembers.
Announcing the opening, Jeff Rosenthal, President and CEO of Hibbett Sporting Goods,Inc. said, “This convenient new location is a win-win for our company and the Aiken community. South Carolina has been a target of the companies’ expansion for several years now.With the addition of the new Aiken location, the company has 31 stores open in South Carolina. Of those stores, Aiken’s original Hibbett Sports was the first to open in 1993.The second location joins a growing number of Hibbett Sports stores in southeast South Carolina, including stores in Orangeburg, Greenwood and the second location in Aiken located on Whiskey Road.
