BO BIKES BAMA CAMPAIGN TO PIT STOP AT HIBBETT SPORTS LOCATIONS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (April 18, 2012)– Alabama-based sporting goods company, Hibbett Sporting Goods, Inc., is excited to announce that sports legend Bo Jackson will stop at three Hibbett Sports locations along the Bo Bikes Bama route. On April 24, Jackson will embark on a 300-mile, 5-day charity bike ride across the state of Alabama with a goal to raise $1 million for the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund.

Jackson’s ride comes one year after the deadly tornadoes that devastated the state of Alabama. “The reason for this ride is for state unity and to pay homage to the great Alabamians who lost their lives on April 27, 2011,” says Jackson. “I want Bo Bikes Bama to bring hope to Alabamians whose lives were forever changed by last year’s devastating tornadoes.”

Jackson will stop at the Hibbett Sports in Cullman at 1631 Town Square on April 25 and at the Jasper store at 714 Highway 78 East on April 26. At both locations, events will start at 3:30 p.m. and the community is invited to come out and welcome Jackson and the other bikers as they arrive. Since Jackson’s stops will be brief, autographs will be limited. Therefore, Hibbett Sports will open at 10 a.m. at each location giving the first 100 customers a ticket to secure a place in line for autographs from Jackson that will take place once he arrives. Events will also include raffle giveaways, the Powerade Event Team and cheerleaders from local high schools.

The third Hibbett Sports stop will be in Jackson’s hometown of Bessemer at the 726 Academy Drive location on April 27. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a live JOX radio remote, raffle giveaways and other festivities.  The community is invited to come out and welcome Jackson and the other bikers as they arrive. He will not have time for autographs at this event but will address the crowd about his efforts to support Alabama’s tornado victims. Jackson’s journey will end in Tuscaloosa on April 28 with a finish line celebration at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater.

Twenty-five bikers are riding with Jackson on behalf of Hibbett Sports. Each mile the bikers ride raises money towards the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund.
