Tell us about yourself!
Name: Leslie Harrison
Current Position: City Gear District Store Manager
Years with Hibbett | City Gear: 1 year
Connection to the Hispanic community:I am half Hispanic due to my father's side of the family and I was born and raised in El Paso, Texas.
Leslie:Gathering with family and the community! I check out different events that are being held from September 15 - October 15 in the area I'm currently in.
And usually with family, we get together on a weekend during the month and have a cook-out/cook authentic dishes and enjoy each other's company.
Leslie:Overall showing my pride in being Hispanic! Sharing my culture with those that are not familiar and having that constant reminder of where I started to where I am now.
Leslie:I think it is important because a lot of people do not understand what the reasoning behind Hispanic Heritage Month is. Being educated behind it creates more of a "togetherness" for all cultures and allows for recognition on the Hispanic communities' achievements and contributions.
