The new Jordan 38 just dropped in August, so it's still fresh in everyone's minds. Its highlight is the X-plate technology, which was inspired by the straps on the AJ 8. On this shoe, it's a light gray color that extends from the eyestays to the heel.
Each side panel on the shoe features a complicated backless embroidered weaving in a very pale seafoam green. Another unique part of the upper is the collar, which includes 41 crosshatches. This may seem like a random number, but it actually represents the average number of points per game MJ scored in the 1993 NBA Finals. And on the medial collar, there are three diamond shapes — meant to symbolize His Airness' third championship win.
The rest of the upper is primarily white, with the exception of the Metallic Gold Jumpman on the tongue and heel. You'll also see some black trim on the tongue, as well as a multicolor insole featuring a white Jumpman.
There are some black inserts on the white midsole, as well as a full-length Zoom Strobel unit. On the outsole, you'll see a standard herringbone traction pattern in a translucent white finish.
With its neutral color scheme, wearing these basketball kicks shouldn't be a problem. They'll match all of your game-day gear, whether that's basketball shorts, tapered joggers or your favorite jersey.
While you may not be ready to enter the FIBA championship, you can still win a gold medal in on-court style with the Jordan 38 "FIBA." Grab your pair in men's sizes starting September 7, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear
