Situated on the banks of the Mighty Mississippi, or the Muddy Mississippi depending on who you ask, Cape Girardeau is where Small Town Sneakerhead Bart Pittman calls home. It’s where he eats his fill of Burrito-Ville Dirty Fries, where he walks the length of the Missouri Wall of Fame, and perhaps most important, it’s where he got his first taste of sneaker culture playing basketball as a kid.
Unlike in bigger, more bustling cities where hard-to-cop-kicks might be impossible to secure, in Cape the pace is a little slower, the feel a bit homier, and there’s a local Hibbett Sports that offers area sneakerheads all the benefits of a big-box sneaker shop from the comfort of their hometown. Bart likes to let his footwear do most of the talking and with Hibbett’s at-the-ready selection of sneakers in the season’s brightest and loudest colorways from brands like Nike, he’s able to keep his feet looking fresh and rooted firmly in the small town he loves.
