Meet Small Town Sneakerhead Tiona Deniece

An East-Buffalo, New York native, Tiona Deniece is a singer/songwriter, entrepreneur, philanthropist and sneakerista. Her love of sneakers began while she was playing basketball in her early teens. As a ballplayer and kid on the East-side, Tiona says it was always important for her to have the latest and freshest kicks.

Her impressive collection of Nike kicks features Nike x Parra Air Max 1s, Nike x Sacai LDV Waffles in “Pine Green”, a pair of Nike Air Max 97 LXs in “Swarovski Gold,” the high top white “Sisterhood” Nike Blazer, dozens of other Air Max silhouettes, Jordans, Air Force Ones and more. Tiona’s favorite sneaker silhouettes, though: The Air Max 97 and the AJ 1 High.

Tiona has gone to great lengths to cop highly-anticipated products for her collection — even camping out in front of local sneaker shops like the Buffalo, NY Hibbett Sports location, but the pandemic has caused her to leverage alternative shopping methods in order to keep collecting. Retailers like Hibbett Sports that offer exclusive launch product raffles and free shipping have played a huge role in helping sneaker enthusiasts continue growing their collections without having to shop in-store for hot launches and limited releases.

Sneakerheads come in all shapes, sizes, colors, genders, and locations.

You don’t have to be from Chicago to know Mike.

You don’t have to be from Uptown to know Uptowns.

In fact, some of the biggest hotspots for sneakerheads and sneaker culture are in the small towns across America, and no one knows the small town sneakerhead scene like Hibbett | City Gear.

Hibbett started small in rural Alabama in 1945, and this year we’re celebrating 75 years of small town sneaker culture and shining the spotlight on small town sneakerheads across the nation in partnership with Nike and Nice Kicks.
