Support Her Sole - Celebrating Basketball with Donations to Area Schools

Oct 25, 2023

Basketball is back and together with Nike, Hibbett is celebrating by Supporting Her Sole with a series of donations to three deserving women's basketball programs across the country!

West Florida High School Donation

The West Florida High School Women’s Basketball team is excited to kick off their regular season with a $5,000 donation from Hibbett and Nike.

Though the Jaguars have already begun fundraising efforts, coaches stated that it can still be tough to find resources where funds are limited making this donation that much sweeter. The Support Her Sole Donation money will allow these young athletes to travel to Tampa, FL to compete in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational and host the school's 8th annual MLK Dreamkeeper's Showcase.

"This donation from [Hibbett] and Nike will make this season's expenses manageable and less stressful for the coaching staff and parents. We appreciate with our whole hearts the compassion gifted to us this season. [We are] forever grateful and honored," a spokesperson for the women's basketball team said.

Little Rock Central High School Donation

This year Little Rock Central High School Women’s Basketball Program plans to dominate the upcoming basketball season, with the help of $5,000 donated to the team on behalf of Nike and Hibbett.

With two appearances in the 6A State Semifinals and over 20 wins the team is ready to take on the 2023-2024 season.

"Over the past few years, our program has demonstrated and unwavering commitment to excellence both on and off the court," said team leadership. "These achievements reflect the dedication our athletes, coaching staff and broader community that supports us. However, our journey is far from over, thanks for the donation to Little Rock Central Lady Tigers Basketball Program for the development of young athletes."

Pinson Valley High School Donation

We recently visited Alabama's Pinson Valley High School to surprise the Pinson Valley women's basketball team with $5,000 to support team needs this season.

This year Pinson Valley Women’s Basketball Program is attempting to improve a 3-20 record from last season, under the new Head Coach Tamara Gills.

Her plans are to #ChangeTheCulture by competing at a high level,  focusing on academics in the classroom, teamwork, hard work, community involvement, and implementing a system, along with player buy-in, of  “trusting the process” that leads to success!
