This particular color scheme mimics the Buffaloes’ road uniform, blending the always-versatile black and white for a peak ’90s style that remains fresh and modern. First launched in 1996, the Air Max Diamond Turf 96 pays tribute to Sanders’ baseball and football careers.
The boot-like silhouette features a black leather base with white leather striped overlays that seem to “drip” down the sides of the sneaker and onto the full-length foam midsole for bold dimension.
Mini gold Swooshes get embroidered near the shoe’s lateral collar, with a black TPU Swoosh adorning the oversized midfoot strap that locks down the lacing system. A white tab along the mesh-neoprene tongue includes Sanders’ Diamond Turf logo in black, with a gold Swoosh and a black and white Air emblem at the heel. The shoe’s interior comes lined in white, and the insole features oversized Diamond Turf graphics.
The Max Air unit is visible in the heel, and if you flip the shoe over, you’ll see a bubble of Air featuring a rendering of Sanders’ likeness surrounded by gold-black gradient atop a yellow-gold “rip” and accompanied by a large yellow-gold Swoosh embedded in the black rubber outsole.
