Also nicknamed "Royal", these Foamposites feature a Dark Neon Royal, black, clear and white color makeup. This particular release also features a blue and black carbon fiber shank plate, a faithful rendition of the 1997 sneakers that Penny Hardaway popularized.
The signature sculpted polyurethane Dark Neon Royal Blue foam composes the upper. Nike’s patented Foamposite material provides a custom feel and actually softens over time, better molding to the shape of the foot. Black nubuck eyestays give way to black laces, a mesh tongue featuring Penny’s 1-cent logo and a black collar. Heel and tongue tabs are black with blue vertical lines, with an impactful stripe of Dark Neon Blue running up the shoe’s vamp.
An embroidered white Swoosh outlined in blue stitching gets tucked along the forefoot. Both the adult Foamposite One and the kids’ Little Posite version include an inner bootie that hugs the foot during play, with a blue Swoosh on one insole and “Air” on the other — that seems to glow from within the otherwise black interior. Another stitched 1-cent logo appears on the textile heel.
The black- and blue-checkered carbon fiber plate wraps the lateral and medial sides of the midfoot for added support, while a Zoom Air unit runs the length of the entire shoe for an all-day comfortable fit. The translucent outsole is embedded with strategically placed, textured blue rubber herringbone and a white Penny logo for plenty of traction and grip.
