The Nike Air Max Penny 1 "Lester Middle School" men's shoe drops August 8 at Hibbett | City Gear.
Make some noise for the Lions! Or at least the latest men’s basketball sneaker honoring Penny Hardaway’s Memphis middle school. Not only did the NBA great attend as a student, he also went back and coached the basketball team for a bit.
The Nike Air Max Penny 1 drops in a “Lester Middle School” colorway on August 8. Available in men’s sizes, the shoe’s colorway incorporates Lion’s colors of black, yellow and white.
The shoe starts with a black nubuck upper, giving it a luxe bball look. The dark tone extends down to the midsole and heel portion of the rubber outsole. An oversized white foam overlay forms the lateral-side mudguard and houses a jewel Swoosh that contains a yellow and black pattern. A white-and-black, zipper-like cord loops around the lacing system, and grey, white and black vertical stripes compose the vamp and tongue.
A unique tongue emblem replaces a traditional tag, complete with an upended yellow Swoosh outlined in white. Hits of yellow also play out in the small jeweled Swoosh at the toe box, striping on the tongue, heel tabs, sockliner and insole, outsole Swoosh and Penny’s one-cent logo at the heel.
