Sneakers Release – Nike N7 Air Max 1 and Nike N7 Blazer Low Unisex and Toddler Shoes

Nov 10, 2020

With a retro style that looks as good today as it did back in the ’70s and ’80s, the Nike Blazer and the Air Max 1 still enjoy star status as lifestyle sneakers in the brand’s portfolio.

Beginning November 13, the dynamic sneaker duo will release as part of the 2020 Nike N7 winter collection to celebrate the proud history of Native Americans and Indigenous peoples in North America. These sneakers follow an N7 Kyrie 6 in a “Black, Pure Platinum and Citron Pulse” colorway released in October 2020. The N7 collection is part of Nike’s commitment to getting youth in Native American and Indigenous communities in North America more active so they can lead healthier, happier and more successful lives. The Nike Blazer Low N7 releases in a “Black/Citron Pulse” colorway in unisex and toddler sizes. The Nike Air Max 1 N7 releases in a “Taupe Haze/Citron Pulse” colorway in unisex sizes.

The low-cut Nike Blazer blends genuine leather with a synthetic upper and a rubber toe cap. Both durable and super easy to clean, it’s no wonder these shoes also got co-opted by skaters, street artists and fashion influencers. Their tough-wearing materials and streamlined design mean the Blazers stand up to scuffs, grass stains and the occasional spill. Dependable foam cushioning gives the sneaker its lightweight comfort, while the full-length herringbone outsole offers reliable traction. Pods located beneath the forefoot enhance traction for everyone from the toddler on a playdate and the tween longboarder to the casual wearer or the intramural point guard.

Playing off the heritage created by the founders of Nike, Tinker Hatfield found inspiration for the Nike Air Max 1 in a striking Paris art museum called The Centre Pompidou. With its air-conditioning unit and mechanical and structural parts displayed on the outside, the glass building takes on a high-tech, postmodern design approach. Though the Air Max 1 wasn’t the first shoe with an Air unit, it was the debut sneaker with a window into the shoe’s “sole”, mimicking the same exposed aesthetic as the museum. When the shoe launched, it was the first time wearers could see the iconic Max Air comfort right in the heel of their sneaker. Other design hallmarks of the Air Max 1 include a lightweight Air Foam midsole, leather, suede and synthetic upper combined with textural overlays and a waffled rubber outsole — a design element invented by Bill Bowerman.
