Held on February 17 at the City Gear store on Pendleton Pike, the event was a slam dunk for anyone looking to celebrate the All-Star weekend in style.

From noon to 5 PM, attendees enjoyed free food and refreshments from Red Tacos Taqueria and Birrieria food trucks while a guest DJ laid down tracks to keep the party vibing. Throughout the day, tailgate-goers kept the building wrapped with hundreds of community members excited to participate in the event's photo ops, food, and on-site sneaker customization from a local artist for those who wanted to create one-of-a-kind keepsakes to commemorate the special event.

One of the biggest highlights of City of Stars tailgate was the chance to win some baller prizes! City Gear and Nike gave Indianapolis basketball fans and sneakerheads free kicks and tickets to the game.


City Gear raffled off a whopping $5,000 worth of new sneakers, creating a frenzy of excitement among sneaker enthusiasts. With 35 chances to win, the event was filled with anticipation as attendees entered for their shot at winning.

Finally, two lucky attendees had the opportunity to win tickets to the highly anticipated All-Star game on February 18th, making their All-Star weekend truly legendary.


But the real buzzer beater was a surprise visit by Indiana Pacer, Myles Turner, who engaged with event guests through a Q & A session before helping present City Gear Sole School Asenal Tech High School with more than $3000 to support the school's athletic programs!

The City of Stars NBA All-Star Weekend Tailgate was a three-pointer for City Gear, Nike, and all the attendees. It was a celebration of basketball, community, and unforgettable memories.
