While the NBA season remains suspended, brands like Nike continue to roll out a dynamic lineup of sneaker releases. Throughout 2020, Kyrie Irving’s signature shoe line has introduced numerous colorways with no plans to slow down.
On April 1, you can get your hands on a pair of the Nike Kyrie 6 sneakers in a new black, white, Soar and Dynamic Yellow colorway. The shoe is available in men’s, preschool and grade school kids’ sizes.
What’s so special about this shoe? Nike designer Benjamin Nethongkome built the Kyrie 6 for Mr. Overtime himself. A blend of synthetic fabric and leather comprises the shoe’s breathable upper, bisected by a thick TPU strap that locks the foot in place. While the shoe itself is lightweight, substantial design elements and cutting-edge tech give it all the gravitas befitting a serious basketball sneaker.
Arguably the most striking feature of the Kyrie 6 is its heel counter – a triangular “peeled-away” heel area featuring a textured TPU all-seeing-eye logo that echoes the midfoot strap’s logo. Other features of these modern kicks include the curved Air Zoom Turbo unit located under the ball of the foot, a strategic placement that gives the shoe incredible responsiveness. The shoe’s rubber outsole includes a multi-angle blade pattern and extends up the sidewall.
Other creature comforts packed into this Kyrie Irving sneaker include a plush, padded collar and sockliner for an ankle-conforming fit, and an internal heel piece that contributes to the sneaker’s locked-down stability.
