The Swoosh continued to innovate in subsequent models. It added strategically placed rubber pods for better grip on the Vomero 2, the third iteration added a seamless upper for more comfort, and the fourth integrated Flywire technology while streamlining the shoe further.

Features of the 5

The Nike Vomero 5’s release date in 2011 marked a natural progression of the line, with some significant improvements. The Vomero 5 is built with a tough mesh exterior and sleek overlays that scream OG streetwear style. The design is next-level, combining a classic running shoe vibe with a modern, head-turning silhouette.

Features of the 5 include: 

  • Extra eyelets for a more secure fit
  • Rubber pods along the outsole for better grip

The Vomero 5 wasn’t the last Vomero model to be introduced, however. To date, 18 silhouettes fall under the Vomero line. 

While they never quite went away, in 2022, the Vomero 5 experienced a revival, along with other Dad shoes in the sneakersphere. Nike brought back the silhouette with fresh new colorways.
