In this episode of Hibbett x Nike's Small Town Sneakerhead series, meet Glenn Heights, Texas native and sneakerhead, Adria Green.
Adria, a Youth Pastor and small town sneakerhead got her first “big girl job” (as she calls it) in her junior year of college. It was then when she started making “big girl money”, that Adria jumpstarted her kicks collecting. She quickly went from having a single pair of sneakers to more than 80.
Her first pair was the Certified Lover Boy Air Force Ones, a collab between Drake and Nike that featured “love you forever” wording on the midsole and a raised hearts traction pattern. “Details matter,” Adria says. “I’m real big on coming as you are and being comfortable expressing yourself however you choose to express yourself.”
Adria’s collection includes a myriad of different sneakers, including Particle Beige Nike Foamposites, cork Air Max 90s, Air Max 95s, and the most meaningful pair to her: the Kobes her father wore as a basketball coach. “I’m a story person,” says Adria, “that’s how I built my collection. And whatever makes me happy, that’s what I’m going to go with.”
Sneakerheads come in all shapes, sizes, colors, genders, and locations.
You don't have to be from Chicago to know Mike.
You don't have to be from Uptown to know Uptowns.
In fact, some of the biggest hotspots for sneakerheads and sneaker culture are in the small towns across America, and no one knows the small town sneakerhead scene like Hibbett | City Gear.
Hibbett started small in rural Alabama in 1945, and this year we're celebrating 75 years of small town sneaker culture and shining the spotlight on small town sneakerheads across the nation in partnership with Nike and Nice Kicks.
