The Air Jordan 1 High OG Brown "Love of the Game" colorway — also known as the "Love Letter" colorway — takes inspiration from the open letter to basketball Michael Jordan published in 2003 to announce his retirement from the professional game. That letter signed off "Much Love and Respect," and those same words are inscribed on the tan leather that highlights the collar and heel of these AJ1s.
The colorway also references MJ's famous "Love of the Game" contract clause, which allowed him to play any basketball game anywhere, at any time, without voiding his contract.
A white leather upper is embellished with dark "Shadow Brown" nubuck covering the toe box and lace eyelets. The weathered tan leather on the collar and heel intentionally references the surface of an old basketball. And these "Love of the Game" sneakers will develop further character as they age.
A rich burgundy outsole adds a final layer of color to the earth-toned colorway. And the classic Air Jordan Wings logo is embossed on the shoe's lateral side, above the Swoosh.
