The AJ3 "Pure Money": Why This All-White Classic Still Reigns Supreme
The Jordan 3 substituted the iconic swoosh with a "NIKE AIR" wordmark at the heel. It was the first basketball shoe to feature a mid-cut profile and the first Jordan to feature the Jumpman logo. This sneaker was a knockout when it was released in 1988 in four original colorways — White Cement, Black Cement, Fire Red and True Blue.
The AJ3 has experienced dozens of releases since its '88 landfall, including the ultra-slick, clean Pure Money Air Jordan 3 that first hit the streets in 2007. The Pure Money 3 is a go-to for celebrities. Famous sneakerheads who've been spotted in the slick shoes include Drake, Jay-Z, Mark Wahlberg and James Harden, to name a few.
The Air Jordan 3 Pure Money rerelease date is currently set for Thursday, July 3.
