Understanding Nike N7's Mission
For over a decade, the Nike N7 initiative has served as a critical platform for empowering Native American and Indigenous communities through sport. Founded in 2000 by Sam McCracken, N7 began by supplying Nike products to Native American tribes for health programs. By 2009, the N7 product line became publicly available, with proceeds directly supporting the N7 Fund.
The N7 Fund invests in non-profit organizations that provide sports and physical activity programs for Indigenous youth, fostering confidence and leadership skills. Since its inception, the fund has allocated over $13.4 million to more than 300 organizations. This commitment aligns with the Native American principle of Seven Generations, which emphasizes considering the long-term impact of current decisions on future generations. Nike N7 aims to help Native American and Aboriginal youth acknowledge their history and build a prosperous future.
