Understanding Nike N7's Mission

For well over a decade, the Nike N7 initiative has served as a powerful platform for empowering Native American and Indigenous communities through the transformative power of sport. What began in 2000 under the leadership of Sam McCracken—originally supplying Nike products directly to Native American tribes for health and wellness programs—evolved in 2009 into a publicly available product line. Today, sales from the collection directly support the N7 Fund.

The N7 Fund invests heavily in non-profit organizations that provide sports, recreation, and physical activity programs for Indigenous youth, fostering confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. Since 2022 alone, Nike has invested $625,000 in grants annually through the fund, bringing its total historic support to over $15.2 million across 324 organizations. Rooted in the Native American principle of Seven Generations—which emphasizes considering the long-term impact of current decisions on future generations—Nike N7 aims to help Indigenous youth celebrate their heritage while building a prosperous future.

This Year's Collection: A Soccer-Inspired Blend of Tradition and Culture

Timed to coincide with the world's biggest soccer tournament this summer, the Nike N7 Summer ‘26 collection upholds this powerful legacy. This season’s designs shift the focus to the pitch, featuring high-performance, soccer-inspired sportswear and footwear emblazoned with the iconic N7 logo.

The material and graphic inspirations are drawn directly from woven Native textile and rug-making traditions. Celebrating the beauty and depth of Indigenous craftsmanship, the collection utilizes striking, celebratory shades inspired by the natural beauty of the Southwest—evoking the imagery of mountainous terrain, clay, and water.

Key footwear releases joining the full N7 kit include:

  • Nike P-6000 N7: This retro-running silhouette gets a cultural refresh, featuring exclusive colorways and nods to Native culture in shades inspired by the Southwest terrain.
  • Nike Gato N7: Originally a premier indoor soccer silhouette, this custom N7 edition bridges the gap between performance heritage and lifestyle appeal with intricate textile-inspired details.

The apparel collection complements the footwear perfectly, offering a suite of complementary styles designed to look as good on the street as they do on the pitch:

  • Mesh Soccer Jersey & Shorts
  • Training Jacket with Matching High-Rise Short
  • Max 90 T-Shirts
  • Club Flow Shorts

Graphics featured throughout these lifestyle and training pieces reflect the expressiveness of Native textiles, viewed entirely through the dynamic lens of modern soccer culture.

Shaping the Future of the Game

The N7 campaign showcases Indigenous athletes who are shaping the future of sport by playing for more than just the win. Headlining the campaign is Madison Hammond, a defensive midfielder for Utah Royals FC, a member of the San Felipe Pueblo (Katishtya) and Navajo (Diné) tribes, and the first Native American to compete in the NWSL.

“The colors represent mountainous terrain, clay, water — all of these things that bring so much meaning to me, my family and my people,” says Hammond. “This N7 Collection shows how Native communities are a part of the mainstream culture. It represents me in every aspect.”

Joining her is TJ Kahoalii, a standout soccer midfielder who is Tolowa Dee-Ni' Nation and Kanaka Maoli (Native Hawaiian). Their collective involvement underscores Nike's dedication to promoting Indigenous athletes and ensuring that the next generation of youth see themselves authentically represented in mainstream sport and culture.
