PUMA x Lamelo Ball MB.04 "Be You" Launching 04/11 Style: Men's Basketball Sneakers

LaMelo Ball is unapologetically himself, whether he’s dominating the basketball court with his otherworldly moves or he’s creating bold sneaker designs complete with in-your-face colorways. 

His latest signature drop, the PUMA x LaMelo Ball MB.04 “Be You” colorway invites any player to express their true personality. Available at Hibbett in men’s sizes beginning April 11, the basketball sneaker features a wild medley of multicolors, ranging from vibrant green to purple.

Each of the basketball shoes in the MB series have featured “Be You” colorways, and the MB.04 is the latest in the lineup. In 2021, Ball became the face of PUMA with the release of his inaugural sneaker, the MB.01, reviving the brand’s basketball portfolio. 

The MB.04 “Be You” blends green and purple tones along a mesh backdrop. The 5D printed upper includes TPU overlays that create a graffiti-like effect along the sides. Add to that Melo’s signature haloed phoenix rising from the shoe’s toebox and its tongue. 

Absent a traditional Formstrip, two embroidered lines along the sides intimate the PUMA branding, and the word “Rare” appears in flames at the ankle. 

If you look closely enough at this sneaker, you’ll get a glimpse of Ball’s oft-repeated phrases, including “Love,” “1 of One” and “Rare.” The rubber traction pattern continues the theme of Ball’s alien-like ascent, a UFO beaming light onto the phrase “Not from Here” and flames licking at the heel.

Wild graphics and otherworldly symbolism aside, these are serious basketball sneakers. Nitrogen-infused foam adds just the right amount of cushioning and energy return to lift off toward the rim and into the stratosphere. The shoe’s raised, multi-zoned layered construction also provides extra stability and targeted support. And a TPU heel counter contributes lateral stability to the sneaker package.
