Sneakers Release – High Heat Warning: Reebok Question Mid “Hot Ones” Drop 2/18

Feb 12, 2021

Allen Iverson was one of the hottest players in the game during his professional basketball career. His speed and precision propelled both “The Answer’s” success both on the hardcourt and in the sneakersphere after the release of his signature performance shoe, the Reebok Question, in 1996.

For more than 20 years since their debut and over a decade since Iverson’s retirement from the NBA, the Reebok Question Mid is still among the most collectible kicks in the sneaker community. This month, Iverson is bringing the heat back with an all-new colorway brought to life in collaboration with Youtube’s “Hot Ones” host Sean Evans.

The popular web series features celebrity guests eating wings that start out with a mild kick and heats up to mouth-burning insanity throughout the episode, before ending in a final bite known as The Last Dab. The Reebok Question Mid “Hot Ones” colorway pays homage to this eye-watering challenge and drops on February 18 in men’s sizes.

Followers of the First We Feast Youtube channel will instantly recognize the “Hot Ones” colorway’s flaming red pallet. The basketball sneaker’s standard plush leather upper comes in a blazing scarlet reminiscent of both the color of blazing hot wings and the color your face will turn when eating them. Black detailing along the tongue, collar and eyelets punctuate the kicks’ solid color upper for a sharp and refined look, while a yellow outsole adds a little flame wearers’ every step.

What really sets this colorway apart from past collabs in the Rebook Question line, like 2020’s Gru’s Lab colorway, is all its spicy details. On the outer side of the sneaker’s tongue is the number 1,996,000+, which represents The Last Dab Apollo sauce’s Scoville rating (as well as the shoe’s original release year).

Near the top of the shoe’s heel, where a traditional pull tab might be, is the Hot Ones logo — a yellow chicken with its eyes crossed out like the cartoon symbol for RIP. There’s even a little splash of red hot sauce at the heel’s base to warn others that these sneaks are packing serious heat.

Internally, the “Hot Ones” Reebok Question Mid features all the tech and comfort tech wearers have come to know and love from previous releases. Hexalite technology softens every step by providing best-in-class cushioning and shock absorption. The EVA midsole adds additional softness so you feel comfortable both on and off the court. And for those times you need to skrrt skrrt, a high abrasion rubber outsole provides stop-and-start on a dime traction.

Coming to Hibbett | City Gear on February 18, the Reebok Question Mid “Hot Ones” colorway will be available exclusively in men’s sizes. So sneakeristas and sneakerheads, Reebok and Sean Evans have just one question for you: Are you ready for The Last Dab?
