Sneakers Release – Jordan 1 Elevate Low SE “White/University Blue/Onyx” Women’s Shoe Launching 4/15

Apr 11, 2022

The Jordan 1 Elevate Low SE “White/University Blue/Onyx” women’s shoe launches April 15 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Back in 1982, a young Michael Jordan hit a game-winning shot for the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA national championship. MJ followed that shot up with a storied NBA career, but it’s still important to remember his first big triumph. That’s why Jordan Brand is about to drop a new shoe celebrating Air Jordan’s college days.

The Air Jordan 1 Elevate Low SE in “University Blue” and white perfectly matches UNC’s colors. The refresh of this retro style features your standard white leather base. On top of that are “University Blue” leather overlays around the toe box, laces, middle Swoosh and heel. What modifies this shoe from the OG model is the chunky platform sole. An oversized white midsole cuts a clean line around the shoe. Beneath that is a “University Blue” outsole with typical traction patterns.

Crisp white laces sit atop a white leather tongue that is curiously absent of branding. There’s also minimal branding on the back of the shoe, with just a small white Jumpman tab on the midsole. At the heel, there’s an embroidered outline of the original Wings logo, but no detailing at all. Inside the shoe is where the real imagery comes to life. The cork insoles are printed with an image of MJ mid-dunk back in his college days. Nike Air branding covers the photo, in “University Blue” on the left shoe and white on the right shoe.

We’ll be honest — while MJ might have loved the AJ 1, these days, it’s not totally fit to be a basketball shoe. Instead, it’s best to rock this shoe with your casual, street-ready looks. We’re envisioning it paired with leggings or joggers to show off the low cut, along with a cropped hoodie or tank.

The new Jordan 1 Elevate in “University Blue” and white is a welcome addition to the Jordan women’s collection, as it’s rare to have a shoe that’s not pink or pastel. You can catch it starting April 15, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
