The AJ Retro 6 rendition came in 1991, the same year Michael Jordan snagged his first NBA championships (and wore the first iteration of Air Jordan 6s on his way to that win, by the way). The vision of famed Nike designer Tinker Hatfield, Retro 6 releases still enjoy MVP status among sneakerheads and NBA fans alike.
Nike based the 6 design on Tinker Hatfield’s original sketches — a very ’90s futuristic-style shoe that’s very much on-trend in 2019 as well. The durable leather upper offers a premium aesthetic and a well-secured fit.
