Everything’s coming up “Bred” this holiday season — Yeezys, LeBrons … and Kyries. Get a jumpstart on your Christmas list and your sneaker game this holiday season with a pair of Nike Kyrie 7 sneakers in the always-classic (and always-collectible) “Bred” colorway.
This black, University Red and white basketball sneaker will launch beginning December 1 in toddler, preschool, grade school and men’s sizes. Whether you wrap these and place them under the tree for your loved ones or you’re itching to immediately slide into a pair of new kicks and hit the court yourself, the Nike Kyrie 7 is a holiday season must-have.
When Nike designer Benjamin Nethongkome set out to create the latest in Kyrie Irving’s sneaker collection, he looked toward Irving’s evolution as a player. The resulting court-ready kicks take their cues from that need for speed without the weight of previous models.
Black composite mesh coats the shoe’s upper, complete with white and black swirling graphics peeking through the weave. Upper reinforcements come by way of the TPU fingers — two on each side of the lower lacing system — that take the place of the thick midfoot strap seen on the Kyrie 6s. This subtle yet purposeful design element is a clever nod to Irving’s dad, who had his son perform finger-strengthening exercises as a young boy.
The Kyrie 7 model also ditches the oversized heel piece in favor of a more subdued black molded overlay with the Brooklyn Nets player’s name scrawled in red and black outlines reverberating around it. The lateral side of the shoe gets a 3D Swoosh outline, and the medial 2D Swoosh comes traced in red, resting atop a tightly woven overlay for medial stability.
Shock absorption and energy return come by way of the University Red contoured Zoom Turbo unit in the forefoot. Whether outmaneuvering an opponent on court, running around the playground or toddling around the backyard, look to the shoe’s outsole for exceptional precision. A computer-generated traction pattern allows for 360-degree movement, assisting in quick directional changes and smooth-as-butter moves.
The all-seeing-eye logo, which was so prominent on the Kyrie 6s, makes the smallest of appearances on this shoe at the bottom of the lacing system. Other personalized details appearing on the Kyrie 7s are the names of Irving’s daughter and late mother along with a “the legacy is going to live forever” slogan.
Get your seasonal shopping done, and embrace the “Bred” by snagging a pair of the new Nike Kyrie 7 kicks in toddler, preK, grade school and men’s renditions. Find the full lineup of sizes online and in-stores at Hibbett | City Gear beginning December 1.
