2020 marks the 35th anniversary of the debut of Nintendo’s Super Mario universe, and PUMA is commemorating this significant milestone with a Mario-themed collection of sneakers. On November 27, the PUMA x Nintendo RS-Fast “Super Mario Galaxy” men’s shoe will mark the collection’s second release of the year. Other silhouettes in this collection include a Future Rider Super Mario 64, Clyde Super Mario Sunshine and the RS-Dreamer Super Mario Sunshine
The RS (running system) Fast “Super Mario Galaxy” colorway was inspired by the Nintendo Super Mario Galaxy video game, which released in 2007. Design elements like the shoe’s twinkling, star-studded black midsole and midnight blue and metallic silver accents all nod to the game’s storyline. Mario’s sidekick, Luma, also appears on the shoe’s detachable tag and embroidered on the outside of the sneaker’s tongue.
Soar through the universe with the RS-Fast’s lightweight PU midsole, which gives any wearer enough out-of-this-world comfort to run, jump and explore this galaxy and beyond. The PUMA sneaker is exceptionally durable and easy to wear. A slip-on lace closure, well-padded, satin blue sockliner and generously sized tongue give this sneaker its heft and structure without weighing it down. A silver heel piece outlines the bottom of the upper, while the heel tab features a Luma star outline. Varied traction patterns in blue and black play out along the outsole.
