Rocket City Runners: Our Pace. Our Rhythm. Our Run.

Earlier this month, Hibbett and Nike proudly kicked off the “Our Pace. Our Rhythm. Our Run.” series, a celebration of the unique energy and collective spirit of Black run clubs. The inaugural event partnered with the Rocket City Runners honored running as more than just a sport—it’s a cultural connection, a personal journey, and a community movement. From the very first step, you could feel the energy in the air. Over 100 participants laced up, ready to embrace their own pace, share in the rhythm, and enjoy a run that went far beyond miles and minutes. Laughter, encouragement, and the beat of sneakers hitting the pavement created a soundtrack that perfectly captured the day’s purpose: moving forward together, authentically.

Why “Our Pace. Our Rhythm. Our Run.” matters:


  • Pace isn’t just speed, it’s a personal way of moving through life.
  • Rhythm reflects culture, identity, and self-expression.
  • Our Run is about building community, finding purpose, and valuing presence over performance.

The Rocket City Runners embodied these values, welcoming runners of all experience levels, fostering consistency, and spreading joy every step of the way. And for those who joined in style, the Nike Vomero 18 stole the spotlight. With full-length ZoomX foam for ultimate comfort, a yard-integrated mesh upper for breathability, and a design that’s as lightweight as it is responsive, it proved to be the perfect partner for runners seeking more cushioning, more comfort, and more running. The Huntsville run was just the beginning. We’re keeping the momentum alive with our next stop in Greensboro, SC, as part of our ongoing HBCU partnership series. Together, we’re proving that when we run side by side each at our own pace, each in our own rhythm, we move the whole community forward.
