The Greatest Hits of Jayson Tatum PE Shoes … So Far

Jun 17, 2022

Not familiar with Jayson Tatum? Get him on your radar ASAP. He’s been a small forward with the Celtics since 2017, and just two years after that, he signed up with the Jordan brand for his own signature Jayson Tatum shoes.

In the decades-long history of Jumpman sneakers, Jayson Tatum is only the sixth NBA player to garner his own shoe. So before his first Jayson Tatum signature shoe launches, let’s take a look at some of the greatest Jayson Tatum PE sneakers he’s previously sported on the court.

Olympic Fanfare

The 2020 Summer Olympics took place in Tokyo in 2021 because, well, COVID. And while the global pandemic may have dampened spirits, it did not deter the release of some pretty sweet sneaks. Case in point: the Air Jordan 36 PE shoes custom-made for Jayson Tatum, who represented Team USA. Reds, whites and blues fittingly dress this signature Jayson Tatum PE shoe, along with his team number and signature.

Smooth Like Butter

Tatum’s effortlessly cool vibe was reflected in a recent player-exclusive sneaker. The Jayson Tatum Jordan 14s he wore in the tunnel before a playoff game against the Nets mimicked the look of Tatum’s 1966 Ford Mustang. Sleek black and dark grey patent leather detailing along the toe and ankle, what looks to be soft suede overlays along the sides and a Mustang insignia make these shoes a standout style. Tatum wore them with black socks, a Dolce & Gabbana cardigan, pinstripe pants, a diamond-embellished shirt and shades.

Tatted Up

One of the many pairs of Tatum’s AJ 36 PEs during the 2020–2021 NBA season paid tribute to the Celtics star’s ink. The “Tattoo” colorway came predominantly in red with beige “skin-like” overlays featuring black lasered-on graphics, including the name of his son, Deuce, a paw print that represents Tatum’s dog and a “98” for his birth year.

It’s About Pride, It’s About Power

Speaking of tattoos, Tatum has his mother’s face tattooed on his leg, so it’s not surprising that the Air Jordan 35 PE released in spring 2021 paid tribute to the most influential women in his life. The “Women in Power” Jayson Tatum shoe was all about bold and powerful colors, from its red throat, neon green eclipse plate, sky-blue overlays and “women in power” phrasing scrawled across the vamps of the shoes.

All Wrapped Up

We love Christmas Day, but we especially love Christmas Day games in the NBA. During the 2019 holiday, Tatum wore the Air Jordan 34 PEs in a “Wrapping Paper” colorway. Red, white and green shoes mix torn-up bits of paper, much like gift-opening aftermath. Green and red translucent overlays and candy-cane striping contribute to the festive flair of these Jayson Tatum Jordans.

Another of Jason Tatum’s game-winning player-exclusive shoes? The 2022 Jayson Tatum “Ruffles” rendition hyped during this year’s playoffs. The Air Jordan 36 sneakers offer the same out-of-this-world flavor as the Ruffles Flamin’ Hot BBQ-flavored chips, with their large, bag-like tongue, a flaming’ hot tongue tag, tonal blue chevron patterns and white and bright orange zigzags. Delicious!
