High or low, black and white or orange and white, kids or adults — Nike is hitting the launch calendar hard this spring with a huge collection of classic Nike Dunks.
The next wave of must-cop releases drops March 10 and will include full-family Nike Dunk Highs in a white and Orange Blaze “Syracuse” colorway, and full-family Nike Dunk Lows in a versatile black and white colorway. A third colorway, featuring a Sail and Orange Pearl palette, will launch exclusively in women’s sizes.
Nike’s Peter Moore (also the creator of the Air Jordan 1) is the genius behind the Nike Dunk. These shoes designed as a means for the brand to appeal to NCAA basketball teams and fans by offering the silhouette in collegiate colorways in sharp, contrasting style. Rather than enduring as a basketball shoe, however, other off-court cultures adopted this sturdy sneaker. Skaters loved the cupsole construction, casual wearers enjoyed the supreme comfort and the fashion world embraced the shoe’s design.
Both the high and low versions of these old-school Nike kicks feature crisp leather uppers in white or Sail with contrasting black or orange overlays. The premium construction offers durability and stability, and the smooth materials are easy to keep clean. The Orange Blaze rendition is a replica of the original “Syracuse” shoe featuring the New York university’s colors. The women’s Sail and Orange Pearl sneaker includes overlays with a light-catching, pearlized sheen.
Toe box perforations lend breathability, and the collar, tongue and foam insole enhance the overall comfort of this sturdy sneaker. Plus, the rubber outsole makes for superior traction on gym floors, grip tape and grass fields.
