The “Unite” colorway releases as part of Jordan Brand‘s UNITE campaign, a film series that celebrates and promotes the unity basketball brings to generations that can impact the world both on and off the court.
The theme, present in the latest Jordan “Why Not?” Zer0.3 shoe communicates the Jumpman communities mantra: “Impossible Alone. Possible Together.”
Westbrook has historically used his “Why Not?” Jordan line to empower the youth of America and continues to do so with this latest release, which features “UNITE” wording on the basketball shoe’s heel tab and a globe and basketball heart graphic on its outer sides.
These shoes stand out from earlier “Why Not” releases because of their articulated Zoom Air units in the forefoot that beef up the responsive cushioning.
Designed by Nike’s David Cin, they also are notably lighter than previous renditions thanks to an upper that blends synthetics, TPU skins and textiles. Varying layers and strategic stitching provide extra stability while still moving with your foot.
A translucent TPU midfoot strap further locks down the foot to enable complete control, while a double-padded collar offers a sock-like fit. Perforations at the tongue boost the shoe’s breathability.
When it comes to a smooth ride from heel to toe, these basketball shoes have you covered with a decoupled outsole and exposed TPU shank plate. Both curve around the foot at just the right angles. The outsole’s modified traction pattern is a dizzying array of cored-out herringbone, which helps with quick cuts in the gym or on the playground.
With Westbrook’s logo on the lace tag, pull tabs at the heels for easy on and off and an exposed size tag stamped into the outsole, the Why Not Zer0.3s are as aesthetically pleasing as they are performance-oriented.
