Sneakers Release – Jordan Zoom ’92 “Cactus Flower” White/Cactus Flower Women’s Basketball Shoe

Sep 24, 2020

Tinker Hatfield’s Air Jordan 7 first hit the market in 1992 – the same year Barcelona hosted the Olympics, and America’s greatest basketball players assembled to create the “Dream Team.” The star-studded lineup included Scottie Pippen, Magic Johnson, Charles Barkley, Larry Byrd, Patrick Ewing and Michael Jordan. That roster of talent has long since retired from the game, but their legend lives on.

This July, the Jordan Brand recaptures the magic of 1992 with its latest sneaker: the Air Jordan Zoom ’92, a fresh spin on an undisputed era of greatness. The women’s Jordan Zoom ’92 will launch October 1 in a “White/Cactus Flower” palette that incorporates robust notes of purple and black.

The Jordan Zoom ’92 takes wearers on a nostalgic journey, blending design features of the Jordan 7 and other 1990s basketball sneakers. For instance, the new sneaker borrows the Air Max 180’s internal sleeve, takes on the AJ 7’s stitched-down heel badge and gets its sculpted design details from the Air Force 5. The resulting Zoom ’92 is a high-performing basketball sneaker with underfoot comfort where it counts.

Leather synthetics — both matte and patent — combine with mesh to form the shoe’s structured upper, balanced with ventilation and comfort. An external rigid overlay along the toe contributes to the ’92’s foot-conforming fit. Meanwhile, that stretchy internal sleeve works in tandem with a plush fabric collar for a snug, comfortable ride.

For moves as smooth as MJ, enjoy the sculpted foam midsole and strategically placed Zoom Air unit. Visible from the shoe’s sides, the unit rests beneath the ball of the foot and gives the shoe its responsiveness. The Jordan Zoom ’92’s rubber outsole features a herringbone traction pattern that wraps around the toe and the heel for abrasion resistance and durability.

An Olympic spirit infuses this sneaker’s every detail, paying homage to the G.O.A.T. For instance, the No. 9 on the shoe’s heel is Michael Jordan’s “Dream Team” number, and the Jumpman insignia appears throughout the shoe — on the outsole, the tongue, the sides and insoles — in varying color combos.
