Exceptionally reliable, effortlessly smooth, steady under pressure — those are just a few of the adjectives that describe L.A. Clippers’ small forward/power forward Paul George. These phrases also aptly describe George’s latest addition to his signature basketball sneaker collection, the Nike PG 5.
On January 21, players and George fans can get a pair of these all-new kicks in a black and multicolor rendition, featuring a white, light green, creamy orange and pastel yellow color scheme. The basketball shoes will be available exclusively in men’s sizes online at Hibbett.com and at your local Hibbett | City Gear store.
The reimagined PG 5 silhouette lacks a bit of the weight of the PG 4, but still offers a shoe that’s big on texture and dimension. The performance sneaker’s low-cut profile provides players the flexibility he needs to get the ball (and himself) where he needs to go.
A black knit upper gets stability reinforcement thanks to strategically-placed black leather bands along the sides of the foot. The shoe’s black laces feed through those bands, and when the laces are tightened, the bands wrap over the foot for a locked-in feel.
Near the toe, the outer side of the shoe includes a yellow zigzag stitch for added protection to the high-wear area during aggressive play. The Nike PG 5’s other side includes an embroidered yellow Swoosh. George’s yellow logo rests at the bottom of the lacing system, and a larger Swoosh in an infrared ombre appears toward the heel’s lateral side.
In addition to the plush sock liner, full-length Air Dot Weld Strobel cushioning makes the difference when it comes to the shoe’s weight. Stitched directly to the upper, the Strobel cushioning is a comfortable addition that will make you feel like you’re lighter than air, while giving you the flexibility to complete history-making plays.
The white midsole also lightens up the black shoe aesthetically, and the light green outsole, which peeks along the sides, achieves the same effect. With its series of relief-map-style lines radiating out along the outsole, the traction pattern provides even more precision and grip than before.
Make your mark in 2021 with the all new Nike PG 5 sneakers in a black and multicolor edition, launching January 21 in men’s sizes at Hibbett | City Gear.
