Summer’s heating up and so is Hibbett | City Gear’s selection of sunny season apparel, footwear and accessories from your favorite brands like Nike, Champion, PUMA, Birkenstock, adidas and more!
We’re sure our invite just got lost in the mail, but we totally wish we had been part of the big splash bash that these Hibbett | City Gear superstars threw to kick off summer in style. Here’s a peek at some of our favorite looks from the party.
Ever watched an old-school slasher flick like “Friday the 13th,” or any other 80s film that featured guys in athletic shorts? Did you happen to notice how short those shorts were?
Well in the 90s, the general population decided short shorts were out, so basketball players decided to start wearing bike shorts under their uniform bottoms. Then all of a sudden, it was a fashion trend that everyone decided to take part in. Today, bike shorts can be worn under running shorts, under dresses or as the main event paired with long tees, sports bras… you name it.
Another huge 90s fad? NEON. If you could wear it, you could find it in neon. High schools parties, roller rinks and malls were filled with neon-colored windbreakers, neon fanny packs, neon paint-splattered denim jackets…
These two are bringing the 90s back with her women’s Champion Zebra Print bike shorts, cropped PUMA tank and bright PUMA Future Riders and his neon Nike Sportswear men’s tank and his neon Swoosh Air Force Ones.
When the first Ray-Ban sunglasses were developed in the 30s, they were made for pilots who were having trouble seeing because of the glaring sun, which was causing them serious headaches and nausea. Those first Ray-Ban sunnies had plastic frames and anti-glare green lenses. Not the most attractive shades, but they were effective and immediately popular.
A few years later, the metal-rimmed Outdoorsman and Shooter Aviator Ray-Ban sunglasses debuted, then the James Dean-made-famous Ray-Ban Wayfarer, and later the Clubmaster. More than 80 years after the OG Ray-Ban frames hit the sunglasses scene, Ray-Ban shades are still bringing the heat as one of the most popular choices in eyewear worldwide, with styles gracing the faces of movie stars, chart-topping musicians, business moguls, royalty and POTUS.
But you don’t have to be famous to rock a pair of Ray-Bans this summer. You can shop your favorite styles, like the iconic black Wayfarers this dad’s rocking, online at Hibbett.com or in select Hibbett | City Gear stores.
A picture’s worth 1000 words and just a few that come to mind when looking at this image are:
In her Nike Dri-FIT Boxy Rainbow Training Tee, comfy Tempo shorts, and cat-eye shades, our girl looks like she is having an amazing time just living her best life.
The waters may be cool, but Hibbett | City Gear’s summer swimwear selection is H.O.T. Styles like adidas’ women’s Adicolor Primeblue Tricolor Trefoil Swimsuit combine traditional branding, fashionable silhouettes and Primeblue, a high-performance recycled material made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic for a look that sizzles. Nike’s Hydroguard swim shirts feature Dri-FIT technology to help you get dry quicker and stay comfortable during high-energy activities, plus Hyrdroguard styles employ UPF 40+ sun protection for safer fun in the sun.
Eye-grabbing colorways and patterns/prints like the ones featured on many men’s swim shorts styles from Party Pants and jammers and briefs from Dolfin also make our selection of summer swimwear all the sweeter.
