Let’s talk Crocs. Ten years ago, these slip-on boat shoes were the poster child for ugly footwear, alongside our parents’ favorite New Balance sneakers and Birkenstock Arizona clogs.
Today, Crocs are literally some of the most popular, most sought-after shoes in the world. Thanks to social media influencers and celebrities alike, Crocs slides and clogs are more popular than ever, but there’s one question that’s been plaguing us about Crocs shopping. It’s not what size should we buy or how do we keep them clean. It’s “what are those charm things people are sticking in the holes of their Crocs?”
The answer, we learned, is that those charms are called “Jibbitz” and they are accessories that help you customize your Crocs!
Dressing Toe-to-Head in Americana styles for the Fourth of July? Pop an American Flag Jibbitz charm (or 2) into your Crocs Classic Americana Tie-Dye Clogs. Rooting for Team USA all Olympics long? Accessorize your slides with Jibbitz like those in the Sport Mode pack, the basketball, Court Sports charms or the Crocs Fans Jibbitz 5-pack! Full-on foodie? There’s a Jibbitz charm pack for that too!
Crocs clogs each have 13 holes in them, a total of 26 spots to place Jibbitz charms, making the customization possibilities nearly endless.
Jibbitz charms are design to fit snugly in place on your shoe, so putting them on your Crocs might be a little tough. The trick is to squeeze the top of your Crocs into a loose fold, then poke one side of the Jibbitz post (the part sticking out from the charm itself) into the hole.
Then push the other side through the opening until you hear a popping noise, which means your charm is secure. To swap out your charms, simply squeeze and fold your shoe again, and push the Jibbitz out from the bottom.
