Last year’s Swoosh offering was the Dn, with pressurized tubes encased in a thick layer of midsole foam for a maxed-out feel and tech-driven look.
The Nike Air Max Dn8 built upon the original for a sneaker series featuring more Air, less bulk and unreal flow, cushioning and motion. This particular silhouette relies on a sleeker, lower-profile shoe with a series of eight pressurized Air tubes with various PSIs. These dual-chambered tubes come directly in contact with the ground, only separated by the rubber of the outsole. This allows the chambers to more effectively compress and decompress as you walk.
Designed from the ground up by Nike’s Jonathan Kosenick, the Dn8 also features a layer of plush foam atop the Air tubes. This sports-meets-style shoe’s upper features a soft, breathable mesh, built of multiple layers and reinforced with a TPU toe. The shoe’s sides feature “tearaways,” with that top layer of mesh removed for enhanced air circulation right where you need it.
When it comes to branding, you’ll find a smaller Swoosh on the lateral collar and one at the bottom of the laces. An Air Max logo rests on the tongue, insole and heel, the latter of which also includes a small Dn. There's even a small Dn Air logo on the third Air tube from the heel.
