Earlier this month, Hibbett celebrated the release of Nike’s latest N7 collection by hosting an exclusive meet and greet event for customers at our Stillwater, Oklahoma Hibbett store.
Guests and speakers included the founder of the N7 organization, Sam McCracken, former Miss Oklahoma, Tiana Brown, and a surprise guest, NBA player and former OSU athlete Lindi Waters.
Waters, who is part of the Kiowa and Cherokee nations, spoke to guests about his heritage, the importance of loving and supporting one another, and enjoyed a little shopping for himself.
Founded in 2000 by Sam McCracken, N7 was created to promote healthier lifestyles, provide education about disease prevention and encourage involvement in sports within the Native American Community.
Though the line was available to only Native American consumers in the beginning, the brand began selling N7 products to the masses in 2009.
Today proceeds from N7 sales support the N7 Fund, which provides funding, equipment, and other support measures to clubs and organizations that offer sports and physical activities to youths in Native American and Aboriginal communities.
Since 2009, the N7 Fund has provided more than $7.5 million in grants to nearly 260 Native American organizations across the U.S. and Canada.
