At Hibbett | City Gear, we stan the men’s jogger as an equally as comfortable yet slightly more sophisticated pant than its sweatpants counterpart. And while men’s joggers have diverged from their predecessor a bit, branching out into different materials, these pants are as suitable for binge-watching as they are for going out for a nice dinner. Journey of Jogger Pants for Men
Way back in the roaring ’20s French sportswear designer Emile Camuset invented the now-ubiquitous gray sweatpants. Why are we telling you this? Over the years, sweats got kind of a bad rap unless athletes wore them. But then, men’s jogger pants entered the chat.
While they feature the same drawstring waist and relaxed fit in the hips, jogger pants have more structure than a traditional sweatpant, cutting a fitted silhouette thanks to that tapered leg and elastic or cuffed ankles.
Men’s Joggers in a Post-Pandemic World
As we began to emerge from lockdowns and the world opened back up, we got to keep the best of our pandemic fashion. Everything from velour tracksuits to denim joggers, both fitted and slouchier, became much more accepted outside the home. We may be tired of hearing about the “new normal,” but in this case, we’ll embrace the jogger pants look forever.

Here are a few of our favorite jogger pants for men and how to wear them in any situation:
- Create a cohesive going-out fit with twill, distressed Smoke Rise camo joggers, a bright-colored tee, denim jacket and a retro-style New Balance sneaker.
- Dress up men’s denim joggers for casual Friday at the office. Pair with a polo or button-up shirt and dress shoes.
