The Air Jordan 1 was the shoe that started it all, and it still has life. A new full family release from Jordan Brand is reimagining how these retro kicks would look with an update.
Enter the new Jordan 1 Retro High OG "Royal Reimagined" colorway. The original Peter Moore silhouette is swathed in Royal Blue and black suede with a crisp white midsole. Best of all, this fresh kick is dropping in full men, grade school kids, preschool, toddler kids and infant sizes starting November 4.
The upper here is a black suede that looks soft to the touch. It's contrasted with Royal Blue suede overlays throughout, namely at the ventilated toe, ankle and heel, and the side panel Swoosh that wraps around to the heel on each side.
There are a few monochromatic black suede overlays as well, including the forefoot and eyestay panel. This panel holds black laces in place for a soft, matte look.
Familiar branding adorns the usual spots, including a blue Nike Air motif embroidered on the black tongue. The OG Retro Jordan Wings logo is embossed in black on the lateral ankle overlay, representing how MJ flies from the hardwood to the net.
A black insole features more Royal Blue Nike Air branding, while the white midsole cuts cleanly across the bottom of the shoe like a palette cleanser. Underneath is a Royal Blue rubber outsole with pivot circle traction patterns.
Back in the day, these were the cream of the crop when it came to basketball shoes. But today, they're best used in casual situations.
