1995 was a big year for basketball, as it marked the return of Michael Jordan to the Chicago Bulls. While he came back too late in the season to help his team win a championship, he did have enough time to debut the Air Jordan 11 "Space Jam" during the NBA Playoffs before ultimately losing to the Orlando Magic.
This tease built up quite the fervor, as the "Space Jam" movie didn't come out until 1996. After then, collectors would do anything to get their hands on a pair—but they'd have to wait until 2000 for the sneaker's first release.
Now, we're on the third retro iteration of this OG shoe. The Air Jordan 11 Retro Low "Space Jam" marks the first time this basketball kick has been done in a low construction. The black and white palette is the same, but the traditional Concord Purple has been swapped out for Varsity Royal for a fresh take. The whole family can get in the fun on May 18 when this shoe drops in men's, grade school kids', preschool kids' and toddler kids' sizes.
