Ja Morant’s signature sneaker, the Nike Ja 1, relies on a looser-weave mesh complete with colorblocking to achieve a vibrant “sneakerscape.” Hyper Violet composes the mesh quarter panels along with nylon and textile tongue and fuzzy heel, while soft green dresses the toebox. White midfoot bands match the laces and feature University Gold stitching and a series of perforations in various sizes to add lockdown and breathability.
The orange-gold tone also composes TPU Swooshes located on both sides of the sneaker. Navy leather forms the mudguard, lacing system and runs along the ankle. Each shoe has a No. 12 stitched on that ankle piece, and Ja’s signature rests on the Hyper Violet fuzzy textile, just above the plush white midsole. A light green outsole features a generative traction pattern and a confetti of navy and Hyper Violet pieces scattered along it.
In addition to Ja’s navy triangle-shaped logo on the tongue, you’ll find pink insoles and University Gold logo in one shoe with reversed colors in the other. Both shoes include gold sockliners. And as if the varying textures and colors weren’t enough, the shoe comes with a bit of lagniappe too — a variety of “Camp Ja” badges that can stick to the fabric around the heel.
Whether they’re going to sleepaway camp or practicing their skills in day-long basketball sessions, the “Welcome to Camp” colorways provide a colorful respite from the heat of the day. Shop the May 20 launch of the Nike Ja 1 grade school shoe and the Nike Zoom Freak 5 at Hibbett!
