“Industrial Blue” AJ 4s, also known by some as the "Military Blue", hold a special place in sneaker history. It has the distinction of being one of the first four colorways, alongside “Black Cement,” “Fire Red” and “White Cement.” And unlike the other three, “Military Blue” wasn’t tied to specific moments in Michael Jordan’s career — though some speculate that it may reference his dad’s Air Force background.
Whatever the inspiration, the 2024 edition remains true to the OG, thanks to its Off-White leather upper outlined with Neutral Grey overlays. Military Blue peeks through the open-weave mesh, runs along the midsole and adorns the eyelets and heel tabs. The Jumpman Flight logo on the tongue also appears in the blue. And classic “Nike Air” branding dressed in white is on the heel, an original detail missed by the 2006 and 2012 retros.
The Air Jordan 4s are the basketball shoes in which His Airness made “The Shot,” the kicks that got lots of screen time in movies and shows, and the first Jordan sneaker to enjoy celebrity collaborations.
Solid traction via the rubber outsole, comfort by way of responsive Air-Sole cushioning and a heritage colorway combine to deliver street-ready style to any sneakerhead of any age.
