Booker himself teased this release all the way back in 2023 when he wore a player-exclusive shoe repping the Moss Point Tigers, and now it’s available in this wider release. This isn’t the first or even second “Moss Point” colorway, however. He also teamed up with Nike in 2019 on the Air Force 1 Low featuring the same colorway.
For this 2025 Nike Book 1 release, suede overlays, leather toebox and canvas twill quarter panels compose the Barely Grey upper. A dusty pink-tan Moon Particle dresses the eyelets and sneaker vamp, while shiny metallic silver creates the heel counter, complete with black embroidered “Yes, Ma’am” on one side and “No, Sir” on the other — a nod to both the AF-1 Lows and Booker’s Southern upbringing. A cream-colored midsole and Pale Ivory translucent outsole combine to add a retro feel to this basketball sneaker.
Other details packed into this shoe include a rectangular tongue tag repping Moss Point and small Swooshes toward the toebox and at the bottom of the lacing system. The layers of loops on the heel tab suggest the pages of a book, with the number 96 — the year Booker was born” — on the inner side and “Chapter 1” written along the outside of the tab.
Colorway and outer features aside, the Book 1 proves it mettle on court, thanks to a top-loaded heel Air Zoom unit, a midfoot plate for stability, full-length foam for responsiveness and a sticky-gripped traction pattern.
