This Peter Moore design that started it all uses a white leather base to keep things simple. Perforations along the vamp keep you cool, while white side panels show off the black leather Swooshes on each side.
More shiny black leather makes up the eyestays and toe. At the heel, there is a hearty dose of matte red leather. Printed on the heel's collar is the original Air Jordan Wings logo in black — inspired by how MJ used to take flight.
The laces are also red and contrast nicely with the black nylon tongue. You'll notice red Nike Air branding there. Black ankle padding transitions to a white insole with black Nike Air branding, Swoosh included.
It wouldn't be a classic AJ 1 without a crisp white midsole running cleanly around the shoe. Under this, to no one's surprise, is a red rubber outsole with pivot circle traction patterns.
Obviously, these shoes would look baller with your favorite vintage His Airness gear. But if you don't have a jersey on hand, try jeans and a T-shirt for a casual look.
