A stunning black leather base makes a dark background for the rest of the colorful palette. Black covers the side panels, eyestays, toe and collar. There's also a small sliver of black that wraps around the heel, separating the two blue overlays.
Speaking of blue, you'll see the Dark Powder Blue Swooshes on each side of the shoe. These wrap back to the heel, where there are two separate Dark Powder Blue overlays — one at the bottom and one above that wraps around the ankle to hold the top two laces in place.
Printed on the lateral side of these blue ankle overlays is the original Air Jordan Wings logo in black — meant to symbolize how well Jordan could take flight.
If the heel represents Jordan's past, then the forefoot represents his future. The vamp shines in Gym Red, with the small ventilation holes adding some visual contrast. The Nike Air branding on the black tongue is also red.
For a fun twist, the insoles are different on each shoe. The left one is blue, while the right one is red. Both have black Nike Air branding. Also the same on both shoes is the crisp white midsole and red rubber outsole.
Though these don't make sense as basketball shoes anymore, there's definitely a place for them in your closet as casual kicks. We think they'd look fab with leggings or tapered jeans in a dark wash. Pair them with a Jordan jersey, and you'll be golden.
Celebrate His Airness' triumphs at all levels with the Jordan 1 Low OG "UNC to Chicago." It drops on July 26 in women's sizes, online and at your local Hibbett | City Gear.
