Nothing much beats the original Peter Moore design. The Nike protege knew exactly what he was doing when he crafted the Air Jordan 1, which is perhaps why we're still seeing fresh colorways drop today (that, and MJ's storied career on the court).
Tumbled black leather lines the toe, while the ventilated toe box is a deep brown suede. The eyestays, laces, tongue and side panels are also black. Naturally, this leaves room for a brown suede Swoosh on the sides as well as suede heel and ankle overlays.
To help it pop, the Nike Air branding on the tongue is a bright Metallic Gold. So is the Nike Air branding on the black insole. Preserving the vintage feel, the original Air Jordan Wings logo is stamped on the lateral ankle in black.
The upper is mated to a Sail midsole that wraps uniformly around the shoe without adornment. However, the outsole is the same brown as the rest of the shoe, adding much-needed symmetry. It has the usual pivot-circle traction pattern that once gave MJ an undeniable grip on the hardwood.
Earthy tones reign supreme in this casual shoe, so we think your outfit should invoke that vibe as well. Play it cool with tapered black joggers and perhaps a T-shirt from the similarly themed Nike N7 collection.
