The majority of the mid cut “Playoffs” Jordan shoe comes dressed in a black durabuck upper, befitting serious and just-starting-off players alike. A No. 23 stitched in white with red outlining rests atop the signature midfoot cross strap, which contributes to the signature style of the AJ 8 and locks down the foot.
A red chenille Jumpman emblem stretches along the shoe’s tongue, and white graphic mudguards mix True Red and black in a Mondrian-esque style. The shoe retains its OG comfort too, owing to a Nike Air-Sole unit in the heel and a comfy foam midsole. This rendition’s rubber outsole blends white, red and blue, among the black traction pattern, with a hit of yellow at the Jumpman.
The Tinker Hatfield-designed Air Jordan 8 originally released back during the 1992–’93 NBA season, and Jordan wore them during some of his biggest career milestones, including his historic threepeat. The AJ 8s also lack the Nike branding, proving the Jordan name could stand out on its own.
