The Jordan Tatum 1 “Old School” sizzles into action on July 15, featuring a “Bred”-esque colorway befitting a rising star. Black, red and a silvery grey inform the performance basketball sneaker with anything-but-old school technology contained within. Celtics star Jayson Tatum’s career is on fire at the moment. And the Jordan Tatum 1 “Old School” takes it back to both Tatum’s Air Jordan 36 “Mustang” PE and his Air Jordan 14 Low PE “Old School,” the latter of which features similar tones and also pays homage to the MVP’s vintage sports car.  

The about-to-launch signature Tatum 1 shoe features a largely black upper with a mesh weave showcasing the silvery grey and red just beneath. A shiny black TPU coating runs along the lacing system, adding durability to the upper, while light-catching overlays form mudguards and outline the midfoot for stability and abrasion resistance. 

The heel counter wraps around the heel and collar, with a black tumbled leather featuring stitched-on lines. A silver embroidered Jumpman plays along the sides of the ankle, with a zero embroidered on the heel and bright red heel tab adorned with Tatum’s scribbled signature. The tongue mirrors the heel’s leather material, a “J” on one shoe and a “T” appearing on the other tongue. Silvery grey reinforced foam composes the midsole and outlines a strong plastic frame along the midfoot and heel for unparalleled stability. 

The outsole features a relief-map-like traction pattern for sticky grip where and when it counts. To keep the shoe light in weight, rubber appears only in the forefoot and toe. The radiating traction is black and grey, with a glimpse of the uncaged Zoom Air unit peeking out.
