The casual shoes blend leather with textile and mesh, creating a durable, lightweight, breathable sneaker that holds up to the rigors of carpool, classes and playtime. White mesh composes the upper’s base, while grey leather overlays wrap the ankle, quarter panels and lacing system.
Game Royal mudguards enliven the silhouette, running from the medial toe, along the entire lateral side and around the heel. Both medial and lateral sides of the Air Max 1 contain bright blue Swooshes along the quarter panels, while Nike Air Max branding stands out in Game Royal along the nylon tongue tag and embroidery at the ankle. Pristine white midsoles include the iconic Air window that forever changed the game for the Nike brand. Black flex grooves add plenty of ground-gripping traction to the rubber outsole, and Game Royal insoles round out the colorway.
Although they began life as performance running shoes, Air Max 1s were designed with playfulness in mind. Tinker Hatfield, after all, added the visible Air unit so wearers could “see” into the sole of the sneaker.
