If you’re feeling nostalgic for the ’90s, Nike is dropping a shoe that’ll satiate all of your desires. The Nike Air Cross Trainer 3 Low “Hot Lava” is the ultimate retro drop in white, black, Hot Lava and Pure Platinum. As the name might suggest, this colorway is inspired by Andre Agassi’s original Nike Air Tech Challenge 2 “Hot Lava”—a 1991 release that was all the rage.

The Cross Trainer 3 Low itself was inspired by Bo Jackson’s Air Trainer SC High—and both styles were released in 1990. All this combines for a ’90s-motivated shoe that’ll knock your socks off. It’s making its official debut on March 20 in men’s sizes.

This shoe’s base is a white leather upper, but it features multiple extra touches throughout. Perforated side panels add a nice airy touch—plus necessary ventilation. There are also two stitched overlays on the lateral side. The first is a black zig-zag that resembles an “N,” while the second is a Hot Lava Swoosh that wraps to the heel.

The medial side features just one small black overlay right above the midsole. However, there’s another black overlay at the heel with Hot Lava Nike Air stitching. While most of the tongue is white, the top portion is Hot Lava with big and bold Nike lettering in black. The back of the tongue is black as well for a nice contrast. It really stands out against the white ankle padding and insole.

The foam midsole is a mix of black and white shapes, while the rubber outsole has a large Hot Lava patch on the lateral side. On the bottom, this is outlined in black tread. There’s also a black Nike logo embedded in the heel.

Whether you want to use these shoes for training or for lounging is up to you. Either way, we suggest pairing them with fitted black joggers, a white T-shirt and your favorite basketball hat for a nice baller style.
