The Nike Cortez "Red Stardust" and "University Blue" women's shoes drop August 1 at Hibbett | City Gear.

Forrest Gump ran across the United States wearing them. Whitney Houston belted out the National Anthem sporting a pair. The cast of “Stranger Things” appeared on screen in these sneakers. Since 1972, America has fallen in love with the Nike Cortez, and that infatuation is still going strong. 

The Swoosh will drop a pair of the women’s Nike Cortez shoes in a white and Red Stardust makeup and a women’s University Blue and white sneaker August 1.

Originally named for a Spanish conquistador, the heritage running shoe has transitioned into a retro lifestyle sneaker owing to its vintage vibe and 1970s-esque detailing. The white, black and Light Photo Blue shoe features a soft, white leather upper with a large throwback-style Swoosh dressed in black. 

Off-white laces match the foam midsole, with its iconic wedge insert and its stripe of Light Photo Blue, for an old-school look. A nylon tongue tag features “Nike” written in black above a red Swoosh, and the black leather heel emblem features the branding in white. 

The low-cut padded collar offers a comfortable entry into the sneaker, with its white sockliner and insole. The rubber outsole features a classic herringbone pattern for plenty of traction on any surface, whether you’re trekking across the country, singing at the Super Bowl or settling in for a night of Netflix.
