Buoyed by the success of his other silhouettes, the KD 16 keeps with the low cut look but shakes things up a bit. Rather than the full-length Zoom Air Strobel we’ve seen in the past few KD iterations, the 16 features a large forefoot Zoom Air unit, with the Strobel cushioning only running midfoot to heel. A Cushlon foam midsole contains this new cushioning setup.
The “Pathway Royalties” colorway features a mostly black upper, with a large Vivid Purple TPU cage running from toe and midsole up along the quarter panel to create a regal, eye-catching feature. Metallic Silver outlines the black upper, along with smaller white Swooshes. This purple-silver combo shot against the black backdrop creates a neon-sign effect. An animal-print-like knit in dark silver with black stripes makes up the balance of the upper. Bright Crimson composes the eyelets and runs along the lacing system.
Bubble-like KD branding appears on the oversized tongue, with a small purple emblem on the heel. The underside of the shoe gets a unique cog-like pattern dressed in Bright Crimson, with a hit of purple around the midfoot. This sneaker package is a solid addition to the exquisite craftsmanship of the Nike KD lineup.
